that I found there was nothing left for it but to take off my flesh and sit in my bones."

Ripening fields lush- bright with promise;
Summer waxes long, then wanes, quietly passing
Her fading green glory on to riotous Autumn."

Looks like you have a lot of shade though.
For me...this was a wonderful walk through your woods. If I were to take that walk here in my woods the mosquitoes would carry me away.
Love your photos...wishing you a relaxing evening.
Once again lovely and very fitting verses! I enjoyed your pictures too, especially the one of the passion flower. We had it growing when we lived in a subdivision and I really enjoyed it, as did the Japanese Beetles! :-))
Yes---it's hotter than hot here too.... We have had no rain (for over a week now) --so we had to water all of the plants/containers/etc. today... i could have watered them with my sweat!!!! ha ha ha
Beautiful pictures though...
Stay SAFE.. Enjoy that shade!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
That was so refreshing, thanks for taking us thru a walk in your woods.
A wonderful ,peaceful stroll through your woods with my cup of coffee this morning.Beautiful pictures!
I believe that just maybe today we will be getting some much needed rain.phylliso
Ahhhhhhhhh, shade! I heard someone speak of the "sanctuary of shade" and shade has seemed like such a gift ever since!
The photos are lovely and the poems paint marvelous word pictures.
Hugs!
Absolutely gorgeous, it cools me just to look at all of that green.
I would love to pass through that gate into the shade beyond, or wander under the canopy of trees, they are magnificent trees. the passion flower is what we try to yank out because it grows with a passion, we bought it and planted it and it went wild. but it is why we had butterflies, hundreds of them, we found it it the host plant for gulf friterarys.
I love the woods, near where we live is a road we often ride and my wife starts with the question "quick or pretty way home" No clues as to which one we always choose..Your Picture reminded me of my childhood on the farm and most summer days spent building camps and climbing trees in the cool. I am older now but can still smell the moss and the bark of my childhood Days. XXX Don
August can be such an uncomfortable month, with the heat and the flies and the humidity. Your pictures and poems are very therapeutic, bringing us the cool of a summer's evening.
Blessings, Star
