A Serving Of Yumminess

The Georgia peaches are here ! and in the South, that means but one thing ....
Fresh Peach Cobbler.

This recipe is easy to prepare, yet deliciously tasty.
Easy Peach Cobbler

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted ( 1 stick )
1 1/2 cups Self Rising flour
1/2 cup water
2 cups of sugar (divided)
1 1/2 cup milk
4 cups peeled, pitted and thinly sliced fresh peaches (5 to 6 medium peaches)
Several dashes ground cinnamon
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Pour the melted butter into a 13 by 9 by 2-inch baking dish.

In a medium bowl, combine the flour, 1 cup sugar, and mix well. Stir in the milk, mixing until just combined. Pour this batter over the butter but do not stir them together.

In a small saucepan, combine the peaches, water, and remaining cup of sugar and bring to a boil over high heat, stirring constantly. Pour the peaches over the batter but do not stir them together. Sprinkle with cinnamon or nutmeg if desired.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until the top is golden-brown. Serve warm or cold. Top with favorite ice-cream.....yumm.

Ooh, thank you! I love peaches. I used to get really lovely white peaches in Japan, but they cost a fortune and you were supposed to share. The Japanese were horrified when I took a bite with out peeling the peach first.

What fun to drop by and see that you and I are thinking along the same lines. I served ice cream and peach cobbler yesterday to my uncle and cousin when they visited us. This is a must-have dessert this time of year. Our recipes are basically the same. It didn't occur to me to do a blog, I'm glad you did. Everyone should have this recipe in their collection.

Oh they do look scrummy! Never had peach cobbler.

My husband always complains about the quality of the peaches we get in the UK. They're never as gorgeous as the ones in Spain or Greece. He reckons we get their cast offs!

I think I'll take a copy of your recipe and see if they taste better cooked. If we had peaches as good as the ones in your picture he'd never let me cook them!

YUM.... Thanks Jo... That sounds incredible... We bought some fresh peaches today actually... We cut them up and put them on our breakfast cereal. BUT--I'd love that cobbler.
Hugs,
Betsy

Haven't seen peaches like this since I lived at a place called Sorrento 50 years ago...you can beat fresh picked peaches.

That is called a lazy day cobbler and it is so good. I am waiting for my white peaches to ripen - the birds and squirrels are sure getting their fill. I hope there are some left for me.
