O' Winter Where Art Thou ?

Just about the same time each Summer, when the air is HOT and stagnant, the weather gauge is showing over a 100 degrees, and it's almost unbearable to enjoy the outdoors, my thoughts turn to Old Man Winter.
I'm not a lover of heat, and the older I get, the less tolerant I've become.

What can I say....I'm of English blood, Norsemen, Vikings and such, my comfort zone is a cool and rainy climate, not humid and hot.
It seems the excessive heat-wave has hit most of the country, so the best advice is to stay indoors under the comfort of air conditioning.
If you have no choice but to brave the elements, adhere to the advice of the experts; drink plenty of water, and wear a hat.

They have a cute Southern saying in these parts..........
"It's hotter than a billy goat in a pepper patch."
Nary a truer word spoken !

It's too darn HOT!!! I live in Tennessee as well, and we have never experienced this type of heat wave here as we are now. We moved up here from Texas to get away from summer heat! I'm with you, bring on the snow. LOL

We moved up onto the Plateau to avoid the hot Tennessee summers you have closer to Nashville. It's not working this year. We haven't quite gotten to 100° yet, but we're getting close! If you see any of that winter weather please send it this way.

Sweltering here in the mountains. A little snow would be most welcomed, at least by me!

Yep, hot here in Missouri also. I have never liked the heat, give me cool days, crisp mornings.
Loved the winter picture, I get so excited when I hear snow is coming across Kansas and headed for Missouri. Love it.

We left TX to come to Virginia to escape the heat and to get back to lush greenery and today's high is forecast to be 106*F before the heat index is added in. No fair!!!!

Spring came a month early here, so could this be July and August heat arriving in June and July, early also?? Perhaps we can pretend that autumn will come early too?

Ta for the lovely winter landscape to enjoy and to yearn for...

Thank God for air conditioning, fans, and iced tea!

Hugs!

Now THAT is a very good question! I'm melting! Fall and winter are my favorites! I want to snuggle in front of a fire with a cup of tea! ha.

Love that 'saying' LOL! I'm tired of the heat too and was just enjoying the lower humidity when it jumped back up later in the week. Now that we had storms Saturday even and Sunday it's back to being like a jungle. Soon we'll be in British Columbia and hopefully they'll not be having one of their 'hot spells' in the high 90's or 100 while we're up there! I'm looking forward to fall but I'm not ready to face winter anytime soon. Have a great week! Maura :P)
