Rain Boots Mandatory

This Middle Tennessee valley was blessed with several days of glorious sunshine throughout the week.
Temperatures warm enough to shed Winter coats, and exchange with short-sleeved shirts and flip-flops.

Today most of the entire area is under a flash flood warning, up to three inches of rain predicted in a twenty four hour period, temperatures back in the 'normal' range and potential tornado threats.
The weather is certainly never a bore around this lush valley region.

Little birds are busy building their nests.
This one is a left-over on the porch wreath, I see signs of new fluffing and tweaking.

The Iris have made their way through the dampened, soft earth.
Signs of Spring are surely all around us.

"March bustles in on windy feet
And sweeps my doorstep and my street.
She washes and cleans with pounding rains,
Scrubbing the earth of winter stains.
She shakes the grime from carpet green
Till naught but fresh new blades are seen.
Then, house in order, all neat as a pin,
She ushers gentle springtime in."

March is most definitely doing her job well, this year. I swear, I can look out the window and see the grass turning green! I also see the steady, chilling rain. I still have groceries in the trunk of the car, they will have to wait until this clears off! I do realize that I won't melt, but I never did buy any muck boots! We'll have our sunshine again, but not soon enough for me!

so glad spring is springing for you, and I hope the rain does not flood you. we need rain so bad here, no rain since thanksgiving, we are in dire need again. fire alerts etc. that bird nest is so pretty.

It's raining here, too. And, with the ground still frozen and lots of snow melting, the area is under a flood watch. I won't have to worry, I'm on sand and, even when frozen, the ground seems to let the water seep through, but I worry about people just to the South of me, on rapidly rising creeks and streams, clogged with ice floes.

Look how far your Iris are up! So you, fresh and beautiful.

We've had rain all day here on the Plateau, so things are pretty soggy. But we also see signs of Spring, even though it is going to be chilly for the next couple of days.

Your weather is pretty much like ours at the moment, though we do not get tornados thank goodness.Spring has set in here, the Daffodils are out and the crocus, the grass is growing and needs cutting but the ground is too wet.
Love the little verse,so apt for March.

Hi Jo, looks like you guys got a lot of rain. It rained here last night but we didn't get anywhere near what you had. I know the ground was thirsty and we really needed the rain.

It will be fun to see your spring, like a prespring review for what we will eventually have a few months later.
