Duly Noted

After scolding one's cat one looks into its face and is seized by the ugly suspicion that it understood every word.
And has filed it for reference.

Yes, without a doubt!

Understood every word...and maybe didn't care one bit? That's my cat Petunia - she is impervious to any sort of scolding I might try to inflict! At least Oliver looks a little abashed...

That goes without saying.

Surely you didn't have to scold sweet little Oliver! I love the expression on his face.

At the bottom of the field lives a cat with 5 "toes" on each paw...and she has taken me on as a project! I seem to have passed the test of suitability and she will grudgingly sit on my lap while I try to read the paper. so priviledged!!

Yes, that's definitely a thoughtful cat. You'd better what your behaviour and your words. He's counting...

Yep, that is a cat's way. I am above all scolding and correction.

Ah, I know that look all too well. In fact, it is sitting across from me right now, silently simmering.

Yes, they give you the attitude, 'you best be careful or I will banish you from MY kingdom'. They think you are privileged to be allowed to be in their presence. Such aloof and regal personalities, I guess that is why we love them so!
