A Walk in The Woods

Now is the time of the illuminated woods.......
when every leaf glows like a tiny lamp.

~ John Burroughs

Oak trees come out of acorns, no matter how unlikely that seems.
An acorn is just a tree's way back into the ground.
For another try.
Another trip through.
One life for another.

I really enjoyed that walk, but I don't feel like I got any exercise. ;)

What type of bird box is that on the tree? Something I'm interested in getting in to is having boxes to attract birds, ducks, owls, etc.

Have a great weekend!

Great shots, what is that last bloom??

Diane: That is a Bluebird nesting box, however the only bird that has built it's nest inside, is a Carolina Wren !

Babs: These photos were taken with a Nikon Coolpix.

Kim: Yes, the last picture is a Passion Flower.

I like the heart shaped hole in the tree.

wonderful tree captures. I like that quote about the oaks and acorns. beautiful. i see you have a passion plant, so watch for the little orange butterflies that lay their eggs on it. they are busy at our house planting those eggs. soon we will have caterpillars and butterflies.

What lovely and inviting pictures, We have similar woodlands behind out house and we cherish those views - but not the Lyme ticks!

Aren't Queen Anne's Lace charmingly lovely?

Hugs!

Are you as peaceful as you seem? Your website is certainly a dose of calmness... something some folks take for granted and some folks don't even notice. I, for one, appreciate the reminder to slow my pace.

Lovely as always! Thank you.

I love how lush your surroundings are Jo. It's been so dry here that nearly all the grass is drying up. Since we have a well we try to use the water for the flowers and the vegetable garden and the strawberries...everything else is on it's own I'm afraid. It's lovely to see everything is so green in your part of Tennessee. Could you send us some rain please ;)
