May Blossoms

"It was the month of May, the month when the foliage of herbs and trees is most freshly green, when buds ripened and blossoms appear in their fragrance and loveliness.

And the month when lovers, subject to the same force which reawakens the plants, feel their hearts open again, recall past trysts and past vows, and moments of tenderness, and yearn for a renewal of the magical awareness which is love."

~ Sir Thomas Malory, La Morte d'Arthur

While visiting some lovely woods I came across a enchanting garden gate….. and …well… I saw ……

"TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood,

And sorry I could not travel both

And be one traveler, long I stood

And looked down one as far as I could

To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,

And having perhaps the better claim,

Because it was grassy and wanted wear;

Though as for that the passing there

Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay

In leaves no step had trodden black.

Oh, I kept the first for another day!

Yet knowing how way leads on to way,

I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh

Somewhere ages and ages hence:

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—

I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference."

…… To me!

Life is truly strange , for while wistfully searching birdhouses today, I came upon your blog and fell in love with Ollie , your garden and home you conveyed through favourite poetry and imagery, and all of the pussy cats tales but what struck me most was the surprising post you wrote about the Maine Coon Cat " Dolly" that lived with John Bailey from Somerset England.
Funny thing is I posted a Maine Coon Cat "Ranger " the Therapy Cat from Bishop's Mills Ontario Canada on my 2 blogs just yesterday. I happen to be an incurable romantic at heart and I have adored England since I immigrated from Italy to Canada in 64.
In 1977 my wish came true and I travelled with two of my close friends to Britain….. a little part of England remained in my heart….forever!

Thank you for the lovely afternoon tea Jo. …had a very lovely time reading the poetry and enjoyed the pictures very much….much inspiration for future art work. Take care and hope your new retirement home will be a lovely storybook english cottage in the wood or by the sea….whatever you dreams may be.
