Timeless Treasures

I have a fondness for English Staffordshire Ware.
One look at those pastoral village scenes, and I'm transported back to my grandmother's kitchen, where her cupboard displayed shelf upon shelf of these timeless treasures.

I can see the kitchen table covered in a freshly-starched embroidered tablecloth, the milk-jug sitting atop, awaiting the first of many pots of tea served throughout the day.
Treasured memories of gentler times........

How lovely these treasures are! I think I remember you have dishes that actually belonged to your grandmother and I know those are certainly treasured above the others.

I have come late to love Staffordshire transferware but find a piece to buy from time to time and love the charm of home it adds to any room.

Hugs!

Very pretty, I have a few pieces as well, just thinking today that I need to gather them up and dust them off and re-display them again. Thank you for sharing your pictures.

so very beautiful, all of these treasures. the doilies hanging off the mantle made me think of my grandmother, she had them under everything and on the arms and backs of her chairs and sofa.

I have a few pieces of Staffordshire in blue and white, given to me by my Nanny. They are among the first things I grab (after my animals) when we have to evacuate due to forest fires. As you say, truly 'memories of gentler times.' And, oh, how I miss those times!
