Porch-Sitting
Summer is the time when one sheds one's tensions with one's clothes, and the right kind of day is jeweled balm for the battered spirit. A few of those days and you can become drunk with the belief that all's right with the world.
I Love a porch. Growing up, I had an Aunt who had a sleeping porch complete with a blue ceiling to keep the "haints" away. Today, we enjoy our screened porch. It's my favorite room in the house.
Your pictures and the music are so beautiful and so peaceful. It is encouraging.... great blog. Thanks so much for your kind words and sentiment. I hope to be blogging again soon. Sunny
What a welcoming porch! Our porch is more enclosed with a low brick surround for safely and for perching on as my DH remembered from his childhood porch in Memphis.
Can someone please lower the humidity?! Thanks ever so much.
Aah, Jo, If I shed my tensions and my clothes and sat out on my front porch.... the law would show up in short order! It's just too hot for any clothes out there, just a lawn sprinkler....
Hi Jo, nice to meet another transplanted Brit! Thanks for popping by to see me over at the Maple Syrup Mob. You mentioned that my cats (the 3 you met)look full of personality....well, they are full of trouble too! Jane x
i miss porch siting, we don't have one now. my grandmother lived in a 150 year old cracker house with porches on 3 sides. each side of the house had rockers for 2 or 3 and the front porch had a swing in which i spent many happy hours swinging and reading and looking at God's creation. we always gathered out there with family. love your porch

I love your porch. Tell us how you keep your ferns so beautiful. Hugs, Deb=^..^=x4
Deb: No special care, just plenty of watering and once a month I water with Miracle Gro plant food.
A beautiful place to be.
A lovely seat for the view !

What a pretty porch. Wish I was sitting there with you instead of sitting at my desk at work, where obviously I'm not working :)

I think Miracle Gro plant food is the best, too! Now I know your secret!

Awesome gorgeous porch. Love the quote.
"...all's right with the world". Don't you wish that we could hear that at the end of the nightly news broadcast... just once?
Jo, you're site is simply dreamy! I love visiting!
Beautiful photo and a beautiful quote.

We are having cooler weather this evening, so it's the perfect night to just sit on the porch--My favorite thing to do in the summer!
Oh wow! What a beautiful, beautiful blog you have! It will be a pleasure to follow you.
This looks like a perfect porch for sitting and enjoying a summer's day.
