Heat-Lover

The Crape Myrtle bush is in full bloom, it's flowers will put on this show for the better part of a month.
It loves the summer heat, I have offered it my portion.

How I love and miss crape myrtles. They grew sporadically here and there when I lived in Maryland and much more in Virginia,
but not at all here in Ohio. They are such a longlasting and colorful bush. Thanks for sharing yours.

I have noticed that the Crepe Myrtle are really going all out this summer, there are riots of color everywhere. I think I am one of the few that doesn't have at least one in their yard! The city of Florence has lots of them planted. Gorgeous! Yours is a luscious color!

It is so beautiful. It certainly is healthy and apparently needs the heat to keep it glowing.

That's gorgeous. I've always loved them, but they don't grow this far north.

I love crepe myrtle's and my favorite lately is a deep-deep red one that has popped up in yards. I don't know the name.

Jo, Your crepe myrtle looks like the same "watermelon" color ones that we have. They are very old and very tall and just loaded with blossoms. I don't know the variety as they were at the house when we moved into it in 1985. I do have a younger 'Natchez' one that I love too.
Hope you're having a great Summer,
Babs
