Morning Mist

I saw old Autumn in the misty morn
Stand shadowless like silence, listening
To silence, for no lonely bird would sing
Into his hollow ear from woods forlorn,
Nor lowly hedge nor solitary thorn;—
Shaking his languid locks all dewy bright
With tangled gossamer that fell by night,
Pearling his coronet of golden corn.

~Thomas Hood : Autumn (1798-1845)

WELL, now Mr Hood may have had a passion for morning mist, but we around her call it that bleep fog. Hard to write something romantic sounding with that though....

I adore misty, foggy mornings. Some of my favorite photos have been taken on a foggy morning.

We had a heavy fog warning just the other morning ! Great photo ! I love our valley when there's a light mist just hanging there it makes it look mystical ! Have a great day !

HI Jo, Don't know if it is mist or fog (I've always called it fog) ---but we have had it for the past 2 days up here. We finally have been getting some much-needed rain... Yeah Rah!!!!

What a lovely poem and photo. I absolutely love misty mornings. I love to feel the cool moisture on my face as I walk along a country lane just after day breaks. The last time I did that was far too long ago. Thanks for stopping by. You know I had never heard of an Indian Runner duck before. I did a google and what adorable ducks they are. Thanks Jo.
