A Winter Idyl.

A Winter Idyl.

Winter offered a snowy cold day.
A time to make a pot of tea, and curl up with a new book.
A time to nest for one last moment.........

"Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers. "
~Charles W. Eliot

"You know you've read a good book when you turn the last page and feel a little as if you have lost a friend. "
~Paul Sweeney

I completely agree with Paul Sweeney's quote! I have my favorite authors that I follow, and when they produce a new book, I rush out to get it on the day it hits the shelves. Then, when I'm finished reading it, I actually get a little sad that it's over!

Love your beautiful pictures! Viewing them was a lovely treat on this snowy morning!

I feel so bereft if I don't have at least one good book on my bedside table. And yes, a cozy place to read is also important. Your places are always like finding a peaceful haven.

I could very happily walk through the door of that English cottage and nest for a bit. Perfect reading for a cold snowy day.

PS Happy to know you share my passion for horses!

Nothing better on a cold, wintery day than to sit by the fire with a warm blanket while reading a GREAT book. Thanks Jo for the great pictures!

We have a little more snow here this morning--just a dusting but pretty.
Hugs,
Betsy

One can look at a lot of old friends and drink a lot of tea when we have such a long winter. I enjoy seeing historic interiors. I picked up one to look at the other day at the bookstore, and a very historic mansion that hand seen some hard years was slowly being brought back from being an 8 family apartment.

Couldn't live without my books Jo. Have you ever read any of Miss Read's books?
Loved your pictures.
