"An altered look about the hills;
A Tyrian light the village fills;
A wider sunrise in the dawn;
A deeper twilight on the lawn;
A print of a vermilion foot;
A purple finger on the slope;
A flippant fly upon the pane;
A spider at his trade again;
An added strut in chanticleer;
A flower expected everywhere ..."

Lovely poem to read as I sit here on a gray, cold, rainy morning waiting for my coffee maker to signal "coffee is ready". Have a lovely Saturday my friend!

Because of the unusual warmth here on the Pacific coast, our flowers are SIX WEEKS ahead of schedule! Everything is in bloom and it's still February! Lovely picture and poem.
I want to come and bide awhile in this photo! the colors, the peacefulness, the composition, all of it makes me want to spread a blanket and have a picnic and be quiet and look and listen. can you tell i really, really like this photo?
Wonder of life, lovely.

A lovely picture and perfect words. Spring can't come fast enough for me!
Sunny :)
Beautiful blog. I come by way of Willow Manor. Thank you.
Over the last few months, I have been drawn to check out your blog every once in a while. It is stunning, and I love the quotes and pictures. Then today in my e-mail, Snndra recommended you to me. What a nice coincidence. Your picture today is outstanding, especially the light. I would sign up as a follower, but don't see a place to do that. Maybe I missed it, Sandra will tell you I am new to blogging and she has had to help me quite a bit.
I just found your blog and LOVE IT! I am from KY but half a mile from TN. I lived in High Wicombe for 2 yrs so love and appreciate the photos.
Way too early for bluebells yet Jo but we can but look forward..... around about Whitsun in the wood near me!
Blessings, Star
Beautiful photo. I really like blue flowers. The poem was good too. We had a full sunshine today.
Here in Southern California I'm looking at a rainbow because we're having RAIN!
I love Emily Dickinson, and haven't read this poem in a long time--It really felt like spring here in VA today; thankgoodness!
Enjoy your weekend!!
Thank-you so much for your comment left on my blog about Sam...It's quite the saga, and still undecided...
What a beautiful little faerie cup at the base of the tree.
What a gorgeous photo...the blues in that forest floor are brilliant!
Love that photo too and the poem because it reminds me that spring is out there somewhere :)
