No Snow ?

The debut of their new techie weather- prediction equipment on the local news station last night, boasted "highly accurate" forecasting.
It failed to predict the new falling snow, we are once again experiencing here in middle Tennessee.
Pffffff. Poppycock.

Sure does make for a pretty picture though. We have more snow heading our way. The last one they predicted correctly so I am assuming they are correct on this one too. Better have the snow shovel handy. I also hope you've got plenty of hot chocolate in the pantry. Kept me going through the last storm :)

Meanwhile, up here in Indiana, they forecast snow tonight but so far, not a single flake has fallen!

Do you think someone Upstairs swapped our states' weathers for the evening? :D

Strange isn't it ---that the more technical they become, the less accurate they also become. Think I'll continue to stick to the Farmers Almanac predictions. They are BETTER...

We had some heavy, wet snow tonight also--but it's supposed to turn to rain...

Hugs,
Betsy

My method of highly accurate weather predicting is to stick my head out of the door, look at the western sky and take a guess.

I checked out English Country Interiors - Inside Cotswold Homes from our library. I am enjoying it. Thanks for the tip.

Stay warm and toasty,
Susan and Bentley

Hay nice grab shot! We are expecting snow for valentines! so the weathermen say. I wonder if all the flakes will be heart shaped? In the meantime you and the Sarge stay warm.

Our weather forecasters showed a map with sun symbols, saying it would be pleasantly mild, but it is B....,freezing cold. The fire is lit,yet I can't get warm, and I can't see the sun through the mist.I liked your photo of the snow falling in the dark.

Gorgeous photo regardless of the inaccuracy of their reporting.

Such a great photo! When I worked at the National Center for Atmospheric Research, I learned a great phrase: "a forecast is just a forecast; it's not a guarantee." Helps me to remember that when they are all wrong!

That's quite a magical picture. We have terrible weather men here they never get the forcast right!

Lovely picture!

We had some thawing yesterday and so far today near Richmond, VA. The forecast is for a jumble of rain, snow, sleet, and freezing rain later today, tonight, and tomorrow. Soup and cornbread are made and hot chocolate ingredients are in the cupboard. Hope everyone's electricity stays on!

Cheers!

We were also surprised with after dark snow. But at least our local stations haven't boasted about new weather equipment.
