The one thing I enjoyed immensely as a child growing up in England, were the television programs.
It was the kind of programming , that not only entertained the school children, but the parents also.
The writers had a unique talent for interacting with the viewer, they made you feel as if you knew the characters personally, or wanted to.
Several months ago, a fellow Brit blogger Winifred, http://stopprocrastinating.blogspot.com/ introduced me to the world of :
In The Night Garden http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_the_Night_Garden
A nursery rhyme laden program which keeps young ones spellbound and winds them down before bedtime.
I must confess, I am completely enamored by this delightful children's series, and watch at least one episode each evening before retiring.
I'm saving a fortune on Chamomile tea.

I couldn't watch much since it kept stopping. Do you watch this on the BBC or on the computer at Wikipedia? I'll have to let my grandbaby watch it.
Donna: Sorry you were unable to watch it without it stopping and starting, it works without any trouble when I watch it.
You can watch more episodes on Youtube, just type in IN THE NIGHT GARDEN, there are videos/DVD's on sale also at Amazon.
It worked on mine just fine. My daughter and her friends watched it with me. We laughed. This would be a cute program for my granddaughter.
I'm hooked on Midsommer Murders. Yours, I hadn't heard of.
I've enjoyed the Night Garden on TV more or less since it started. I don't seek it out but when channel surfing I always stop to watch the little gems until the episode ends. Then I sigh happily and go about my business.
Can't say why I like it, and I'm not sure I want to. Rather like my feelings towards haiku, really.
That is so cute, I could watch all of it .

Youtube has opened the entire world up to so much to enjoy. I can't imagine how quickly lives have changed, learned, or become informed over the things in this world. I don't have grandbabies yet so I will just watch one once in a while.
That is sweet and happy, happy, happy...certainly leaves you smiling!
Well! That was so lovely I feel my blood pressure is down by a significant amount! This is the solution to my midnight scaries: I'm going to download a couple of these gems to my laptop and then I can just watch one and go back to sleep. I love this. It doesn't seem to be available in the US, I did try to find it. YouTube is sufficient, though. Thanks for this!
Can't say I've ever heard of it or watched it but love that you find such joy in a children's program!
