Late Summer Meadows...

The field full of Joe-Pye Weed has attracted butterflies of all varieties.

Monarch Butterfly and Goldenrod Soldier Beetle work harmoniously together, flitting between the Queen Anne's lace and Goldenrod flowers.

I traded the banana bread to my son-in-law.
In exchange I received this HUGE pot of Chrysanthemums......I think I got the better deal !

Oh I'm not sure.... That banana bread looked to be very very good.. You know me--as much as I love flowers, I somehow am drawn to good food!!!! ha ha

The late summer 'weeds' surely are gorgeous this time of year and your mums are pretty too. Like that color.

Have a great day. We're off to Hendersonville today to check on G's parents.

The monarchs are migrating right now. We usually have large clusters of them at a time but have seen that yet, but many monarch are coming south. Your photos are great. Your fall looks about the same stage as ours. The goldenrod is doing great.

Whenever I look at your beautiful pictures, I miss my house with the 2 acres and 7 gardens that we sold when we moved to NC. I'm glad I can visit your gardens instead.

BTW - the new owners tore out or mowed everthing,including the pickett fences. Big sigh......

Bren: Isn't this time of year just glorious ?

Denise: Yes, the mums are stunning, and more of them opened their buds today, now they really are spectacular.

Donna: Aren't they just awesome !

AmyK: Oh NO, do you have pictures of your old place ?
It saddens me when new owners, go minimalistic but then it's their place ....{sigh}

Wanda: I was more than satisfied, and I still ate a piece of bread, since he

Dave: I 'spect I am a bit of a David Bailey, just seem to see the beauty in a lot of nature. I'll take that as a compliment, since I blushed when I read it ;)
