"September days have the warmth of summer in their briefer hours,
But in their lengthening evenings a prophetic breath of autumn.
The cricket chirps in the noontide, making the most of what remains of his brief life.
The bumblebee is busy among the clover blossoms of the aftermath,
And their shrill and dreamy hum hold the outdoor world above the voices of the song birds,
Now silent or departed."-

Lovely post for a lovely month! And what a pretty gate :) -Tammy
Yes please, white, no sugar!
Love the words, exactly what I've been thinking with the cooler turn to the weather.
Gorgeous photo, lovely bright colors, makes me want to discover what lies behind the gate?
Thanks for sharing.
I like the way autumn comes calling at your place. You've got the gate open for autumn to come in.
Oh I cna'yt wait for fall! my favorite time of year. Unfortunately in California is doesn't get here until November!
Very nice writing. Our sun is moving to the south and our days are shortening. Our light changes so quickly and it does look like fall.
Beautiful Jo.... I notice that every night, it seems to get dark sooner. I always bring the bird feeders inside at nights ---so I notice how soon it gets dark now... Mercy!!!!
YES---Autumn is coming----OR here!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
I want so much to walk through the gate and down the path.

What a beautiful poem/thought by Rowland Robinson. And the picturesque gate sets the tone. We are less than a week away from fall being official :)
Aaah, you beat me to it - I just prepped a post for a goodbye to summer!, but not as poetic as R. Robinson's:)
If that's your gate--how inviting! Lovely.
