And The Rains Came

We have been deluged with rain today.
Cold, wind-driven rain, the ground is soaked, the creeks are overflowing their banks.
Winter is in the air....

We had lightning and thunder around 4:00 EST this morning, along with some rather heavy rain and wind. Our rain gauge measured 1 1/2 of rainfall

We received the rain here in central KY as well. And, then the sleet came through. Very cold here.

I know the rain is making the creeks swell, and I hope the creek stays where a creek should!

Oh no, we got none of the rain and our ponds are drying up. It is going to be a miserable 18 degrees tonight though, so old man winter has arrived.

I wish it would have been snow!

The days will begin to get longer after another week or so. It's hard to believe, isn't it? I usually notice the return of the light around the end of January. Until spring I'll stay bundled up in my winter clothes! :-)

We are suppose to have rain today in N. Florida, then turn cold. I am so ready for that. It just does not seem like Christmas with temps in the 80's and having to run the A.C. instead of the fireplace.
