Rain Dancing

We had rainfall late last night.
An ever so small rainfall, but we'll take what we can get after days of blistering heat and humidity.
I'm hoping we will get another late evening thunderstorm, the skies surely promise one.

The First Sergeant worked unfazed in the heat, dividing Iris and planting shrubs.
He deserves a medal, another one !
There are several more flowers in bloom, as others fade, the cycle of growing continues.

Once upon a time there were four little Rabbits, and their names were -- Flopsy, Mopsy, Cotton-tail, and Peter.
They lived with their Mother in a sand-bank, underneath the root of a very big tree.

Love the colors in your garden...I'm helping with the rain dance for you. And would also be happy to send you some of our rain...we've had plenty, and things are soaking. Not as much fun to play in the garden when it's muddy.
Hope your weekend was lovely.

Gorgeous photographs Jo. Working in that heat in the garden, yes he deserves a medal. We had quite a whopper of a thunderstorm this evening. We drove home from spending the weekend in Charlottesville (VA), to drive into the garage as the first spots of rain fell. The clouds were looking ominous towards the end of our journey and I was so glad we got home before that rainfall. Streaks of lightning, loud claps of thunder and the trees whipping around like they were twigs. Now we have the windows open as it's lovely with a nice breeze blowing in. Have a great week, and thanks for this lovely post to welcome me home.

Beautiful! We are still hoping to reach 80 degrees one of these days, but so far only three days of 70 or higher... I will be sorry to see these moderate temperatures go away...

You got a little rain? I saw the radar, took the dog collars off, filled o2 tank...........and....... I think I heard about a dozen drops hit the window. Major disappointment!

It's funny how one area can be flooded and others dry and hot not so far away.

Great shots of the garden.

Glorious photo of the clouds. If there had only been musical notes on those power lines how fitting would that be.

Lovely photos. I love those blues.
Amazing those flowers survive the heat.

We have just had quite a lot of rain in the UK but it's fairly cool. Never mind it's sunny and lovely blue skies.

It's been very dry down here in Florida too. The recent rain was too short-lived to make a big difference.

I am actually from Beatrix Potter, country, you know? Her house wasn't that far from where I was brought up in Cumbria.

Lovely pictures and colours. It's no fun working in the heat. I don't last more than ten minutes in the full sun! Not used to it you see.

Good Morning Jo!
We finally got some rain too...now it's hot and muggy although this morning feels much cooler thank heavens. Hubby has been helping in the shade garden pulling thousands of tiny elm trees. I love the shade but I HATE the mess the Elms make with all their seeds! Oh well. Your flowers are lovely. I hope next year I'll have some pretty flowers to take pictures of this time of year. Thanks for the inspiration!
Maura :)
