Little Things That Make Me Smile

"As the years pass, I am coming more and more to understand that it is the common, everyday blessings of our common everyday lives for which we should be particularly grateful."

I agree - - the little every day things that make us feel good and derive a sense of comfort. All the photos are lovely - - - but OMG, that chair!!! It is absolutely astounding!!!
I love all the writings of Laura Ingalls Wilder. I visited her home in Mansfield, MO numerous times. She lived there for about 64 years.

I also agree... it's little things that make you smile. Some are lovely as the things you posted and some just have (don't know a word to describe it... maybe 'personal charm').
I have an old little plastic toy frog that when you wind him up, he sashays sideways. He has lost one eye and 2 arms, but still keeps going. He sits on my kitchen window sill... and he always makes me smile.

That is a gorgeous chair. The upholstering perfectly complements the design of the chair. I just love old furniture and often wonder what tales they could tell if they could talk.

The china depicting countryside houses is calling to me.

O that armorial chair... it fits your scheme
of things, Jo, and sings Britain. Thank you
for sharing the beauty. May Valentine's
Day be love overflowing in your home.

I have been having a cup of tea in the afternoon each day rather than coffee. I the Royals in the dish cupboard and your candle stick with the shade. I bought some new tea as I was using up all of our old stray bags. English Breakfast tea sound like it should be good. Enjoyed my visit today.
