Timeless Treasures

I have a fondness for English Staffordshire Ware.

One look at those pastoral village scenes, and I'm transported back to my grandmother's kitchen, where her cupboard displayed shelf upon shelf of these timeless treasures.

I can see the kitchen table covered in a freshly-starched embroidered tablecloth, the milk-jug sitting atop, awaiting the first of many pots of tea served throughout the day.
Treasured memories of gentler times........

One of my favorite collections are from the Alfred Meakin "Tintern" series.
I'm drawn to their bucolic scenes from years gone by.

Certainly "art" for the soul...it transports us back to another place and time
and lifts the spirits... What was once the norm has become the exception ...
blessed are those who see and "know"......

Beautiful pieces, Jo. I love cups and saucers and picked up some old Ansley and Colclough pieces when we were in England back in 1996.

I really like the pitcher collection. I too like the scenes on them. I have one, not the same company, it is all white but no British scenes on it. I like the colors too. It is fun to collect things of you childhood memories.
