Rain Dancing

I was out running errands today, and couldn't help but notice, all the dried-up lawns and dying Cedar trees.....everywhere.
The rainfall has been minimal these past couple of months, and now we are seeing the effects, it's a sad sight.

"Spring flowers are long since gone.
Summer's bloom hangs limp on every terrace.
The gardener's feet drag a bit on the dusty path and the hinge in his back is full of creaks."-

Hi
My name is Tweedles. You do not know me, but you and I have a friend in common.. Kim at Golden Pines.
I just came from visiting Kim,,,
You had been there too,, cause I saw your sweet comments.
Kim received an Award, and what she wanted all the bloggers to do,, was pick a blog from her side bar,, and go say hello. And so,, I looked and I found you. I looked at many of your posts. I looked at your photos, and poetry.
I sat in awe at the beauty.
And then I heard your music,, and all of it has touched me.
I do not know you, but you have a beautiful blog, and I wanted to say thank you for being such a wonderful blog friend to my dear friend Kim.
I wish you peace,, and love

with loving thoughts

Hi Jo, Oh goodness I know how that looks as it's been like this here in Kansas since pretty much early summer. We did finally get some rain and things have greened up but we are again in the triple digits so we are loosing what we gained pretty fast. We lost an elm tree out front of the house and a few young ones growing in the front pasture and there are patches of dead in the lilacs. This has been a terrible year. I think we are on our 43rd day of 100+ temperatures so far this summer. I hope you get rain soon too. Stay cool!

I love the rabbit. We have been very lucky here. Your pictures are always to green, vibrant and lush its hard to tell you're experiencing a drought. We have gotten rain at least once a week, so things are lush compared to other places. Our crops look good, and lawns are green. I hope you soon get relief from the drought.

I know the feeling Jo. We've had a little rain here and there but no where near enough. Hope you have a wonderful weekend! Hugs!

Good Morning, I think. It looks good, too good actually. We really do need some meaningful rain, I would really like to water the lawn, but I worry about the well.

Have a happy TGIF!

so many places need rain and need it badly, and then there are those who have way to much. it is sad since both causes so much damage

I've had to water twice this summer, but I've been very lucky to receive rain enough times that the yard and surrounding areas haven't suffered as much as your neck of the woods. Beautiful rabbit and post.

I wished I could have pushed some of our summer rain clouds - way to many! - towards your rain-starved soil!

It is verry dry here in coastal Georgia. I have not watered my lawn this summer and I notice no one is watering. I don't think there is a ban on watering. I just think people know how bad the drought is.

I live right across the Tn/Ga state line. So we are very dry here, too. It rained in spots of Chattanooga the other day but totally missed us.

Usually starts raining again in September. My plants will be thankful. Til then I'll water the things I can.

Love all your pictures.

I tell you it's been a nightmare here all summer. Hottest July nationally and zilch rainfull at all for 3 months. But the past 2 weeks we have finally had a couple of inches spread out and things are greening up. I hope never to see another summer this hot in Okieland!

Hope you're well :-)

After 4 or 5 years of drought ours finally broke with a vengeance winter '09/'10. That winter we had huge snows and the following spring and summer were wetter than historical average followed by a fairly normal snowfall the next winter. The flora bounced back spectacularly!

Now that we got some rain our summer nights have been for the mosquito only.
