Porch-Sitting

Ooh, it's been a glorious day......
One of those days, where the temperature has cooled, and the humidity has returned to the point of tolerable.
A breezy porch-sitting day.
You can feel that Fall is in the air, just around the corner, and I'm excited, because it is my favorite season.
I've always felt that since my birth month is early November it's a coming home of sorts, a kinship to my genetic roots.

"Whilst August yet wears her golden crown,
Ripening fields lush- bright with promise;
Summer waxes long, then wanes, quietly passing
Her fading green glory on to riotous Autumn."

This morning, it looked like it could rain, then it cleared off and was gorgeous and breathable! Was a really pretty day in Tennessee!

It is too chilly to sit on the porch here, but while I was in England the days and evenings were wonderful. We sat in the garden until night fall,I miss that now I am back home.
I also like autumn, we have beautiful weather at that time of year, shorter evenings but lovely during the day.

the picture is fantastic, i can feel the cool breeze. here we are still at 98 and hot hot humid humid and if we open doors/windows and let the curtains blow, the house would be buried in bugs and mosquitoes, so i will have to enjoy yours and I am.

Spring is my favorite Season. I love the thrill of seeing the new things grow a little each day. But, Fall comes in a close second, and the plants and trees retire for the year in a riot of color.

What can be better than porch sitting? Except of course if I were porch sitting with you!

Such a beautiful photo to go with this lovely post. Isn't it wonderful to feel a slight coolness in the air now? I have all my windows open and am loving the change. Lovely poem too. Thanks Jo :)

I have to confess to spring being my favourite time of the year, I think that is mainly because of my work, it's a time when everything is coming back from the dead, there is hope and plans to fulfill. Of course I try to make the most of all the seasons as we only have a limited number and so each one that passes is one less.

I was an Autumn baby, but it is most definitely not my favourite season.

Ahh, that photo of the curtains reminds me so much of my childhood and lazy afternoon on the porch.

Jo ~ Saturday evening in our
part of TN was enchanting...
Perfect temperature, cool,
gentle breeze and the Moon!
Breathtakingly clear and
smiley-faced...and the Lord
had taken a brush and painted clusters of symetrical clouds around its
beaming light....Almost
unreal..... Did you see it?

I can feel the breeze in those sheers and smell the fresh coat of paint on that porch. . . not that you have painted it recently. That is what just came through for me.

I wonder, will this autumn be a gentle one? That would be so lovely.

This is a perfect picture for a breezy, porch-sitting day. It makes me wish we had a porch.

Same here in Ohio! It's wonderful to have the windows open! Fall is my favorite, too. I'm sure we will have more heat before then, but it has been so nice for now!
