Alice In Wonderland
To turn off the PLAYLIST scroll to the bottom of the sidebar, and click the LARGE round button.
As previously planned, my granddaughter and I went to see the new Alice in Wonderland movie today.
Rated PG for fantasy action/violence involving scary images and situations and for a smoking caterpillar.
We decided not to see the 3-D version instead opting for the 2-D.
The storyline is of nineteen year old Alice who once again falls down the rabbit hole, that takes her to Underland; a strange world inhabited by anthropomorphic creatures in search of someone to save them from the dreaded Red Queen.
The character of the Mad Hatter played by Johnny Depp was one of the most colorful and entertaining portrayals to date, together with the role of Alice, superbly played by actress,
Mia Wasikowska.
Not a movie I would recommend for small children, but if you're an Alice in Wonderland fan, a definite "two thumbs up"...... an Alice in Wonderland on steroids if you will.

Thanks so much for posting this about Alice...the plan is to go tomorrow. Very much appreciate your review!
I'm late, I'm late for a very important date...with my bed!
Night night. see you tomorrow.

So happy to read your thoughts on Alice in Wonderland. Yes, a fan.
I don't have a blog but so enjoy yours. I drop by often.
Can't wait to see Alice - thanks for putting the trailer out there. The Cheshire Cat!! Lots of imagination I see and a feast for the eyes.
Thank you for that post because I would love to see this and cannot wait. The trailer is great!
Oh honey, you just HAVE to go back and attend the 3-D version...it simply is NOT the same in 2-d...trust me, you will be so glad you did!
I liked it but I didn't love it. Johnny Depp was indeed wonderful and unrecognizable as the Mad Hatter.
I have not seen it but from this I prefer the old Alice best. I love to read the story and use my imagination, this one shows someone has a really active one. it is incredible what they do in the movies now with makeup and special effects.
Glad you enjoyed it Jo, and with that recommendation I will be seeing it this weekend. I do enjoy anything to do with Alice in Wonderland, an old favorite from childhood. Thanks for the review and have a great weekend.
Glad that you enjoyed it.
The film has had mixed reviews here in the UK. I haven't seen it, but 19 seems old for Alice.
This is right up my street. I can't wait to see it. I love Tim Burton's take on life and all his films are great. Can't wait, can't wait for this very important date!
Blessings, Star
I keep hearing that the 3-D version is the one we need to see.... I can't wait to see it. Thanks for posting, Jo.
Hugs,
Betsy
We enjoyed the 3D version. I would have to agree that for little children it's not the cute childish version we are used to seeing. If you like Tim Burton's style, this is a great film.
My wife and I really liked this movie. We are going back to see it again to see what all we missed. My wife read the book over and over again as a child so she had to keep explaining things to me. It is a wonderful 3-d experience also. It makes it so magical as a movie.
I saw it in 3D and did not like it--the glasses were too dark so the colours lost their vibrancy. Also, it really wasn't filmed with 3D in mind anyway. Prolly better off with 2D. I actually found the movie so boring I started falling asleep and after about 55 mins of it, i left eh cinema--never done that before. Just couldn't take anymore of it. got my money back too but talking about how dark the glasses were. LOL.
