Have you ever had the decorating urge to change something, but didn't want to get so involved it developed into a huge remodel ?
Well, for the past few months I felt the need to upgrade the backsplash in my kitchen. It was wallpapered, and looked worse for wear.
I thought about tiling, but quite honestly didn't want that much expense until I change out the countertops in the next year or two.
My daughter has just completed a kitchen remodel, and used a product around her backsplash that looks like tin, so much in fact, if you didn't know it wasn't you'd be none the wiser.
Enlisting the help of The First Sergeant and Number One son-in-law, the head contractor (daughter), installed a new tin-type backsplash in less than three hours.
My job was the most important, in case you're wondering......making the tea.

It looks gorgeous Jo. I am about to do a similar thing, if I can afford it. One of the reasons my house in England didn't see a couple of years ago, was the state of the old-fashioned kitchen, but we couldn't afford to redo it. We still can't, so I am doing it bit by bit. This year it is the turn of the sink unit. I have had a designer in to see what I want and I now await his quote.....? I love your splashback. It is very unusual. I would only be a bit worried about the sun reflecting off it and dazzling my eyes. However, that's in my house, yours may face a different way.
Great job!
Blessings, Star
A friend of mine just purchased this for his home to put in a ceiling area as an accent. It is beautiful and you will really enjoy it.
Beautifully done Jo!
Love it Jo! :)
I have the same backspash and I love it! Our kitchens look very similar.
That looks amazing!!! I have seen this stuff before and wanted to try it but was kinda scared of the work, but girl I think I will do it..Thanks Jo...
An excellent choice for giving a whole new look without getting too involved or spending too much money.
I have used this. It looks great.

Very pretty Jo.... It's elegant looking.. Think your daughter had a great idea ---and it looks GREAT.
Hugs,
Betsy
Three hours? Incredible. Looks great. Is that something they would use in England?
It's lovely, and quite a nice addition. Sorry to hear you're having such problems with the internet, I think this was posted twice? Now it seems to be here only once. Anyway, I'm hoping everything turns out okay now, since everyone can have all the tea they want.
I assume the tea turned out as well as the backsplash did. Does your contractor make other house calls? We have tea.
Oh! That looks so good! Ya'll really did a nice job!
I like that. A friend of mine is doing the same in her kitchen. I saw it in Lowe's and liked it straight away. Hugs
I LOVE it! Great job. I've seen this before and have always liked the look.
Star: Thank you for the comments, you are facing a large job, and expensive, as you already know.
The picture makes the backsplash look more shiny than it really is, I guess it's the glare. However my house is dark inside, having porches on the front and back, so a bit of reflection is welcomed.
Hope you are well !
L.D. I saw the same company made the ceiling tiles, something I would love to install. They bring an olde world look to the kitchen.
Wanda : Thank you, I think I'll enjoy it.
Carol: Thank you, I guess if I get tired of it, I can tear it off...lol
Milah: What a coincidence ! I'm glad you like yours, it makes me feel better ;)
Andora: You go for it !
It cost about two hundred dollars for everything, no actually 170.00 because I took one sheet of the tile back, where I had bought too much.
GastonStudio : That makes me feel better....coming from a designer :)
Benny and Patsy: Great to hear you liked it. There is safety in numbers ;)
Betsy: Thank you, she usually has a vision in mind, I on the other hand, have to see it !
Donna: It looks like the old tin ceilings that are now making a comeback. This particular one has a bronze finish over tin, which makes it look more copper than bronze. I think they used this stuff years ago, in England and the USA.
DJan: Thank you, I'm still having trouble, things are not working as they should, but I'll get to the bottom of it.
George: Lol ;) I'll pass the suggestion along. Tea is good !
Ambiance: Thank you, I think they did do a nice job !
Patti Cakes: Yes, I bought some at Lowes and some at Home Depot, since neither store had enough to do the job.
Hope you're feeling well, and still taking it easy !
Hugs.
Jo
Tea maker? Clever Girl! Great finish and beautifully done!
It looks nice! Seems like the head contractor ran a tight ship!
