I'm beginning to get cabin fever, and just as slightly warmer temperatures arrive, an entire new weather system is headed our way.
More snow, and sadly combined with frozen precipitation.
The school children have been afforded extra days off school, and yet their presence outside has been scarce.
Back when my daughter was young she would spend an entire afternoon outside with her neighborhood friends, sledding and building snowmen, only returning to the warmth of home for a change of gloves, and some hot chocolate. Nowadays, it seems like the children stay inside and play computer games or watch TV.
Times have changed.

You have such a beautiful home. You certainly got a good snowfall. We will be cold for now so there is no way that snow will melt. You window scene is so beautiful.
I was just talking about this very thing with my daughter and my Norwegian son-in-law. When I was a kid, I was outside playing, only in watching television if I was sick. They remember the same thing from their childhoods, playing outside every day. Now you drive through a neighborhood and there are no kids anywhere. They're entertained too easily with TikTok and video games. The path of least resistance, with no parents around saying NO, go outside!
The outside front picture of your home is beautiful....I love the symmetry of it. Agree about the children and find it sad, remembering so many happy hours of my own childhood enjoying the Scottish snow...for a while! Stay cozy. X
I'm glad I was a child long before computers cell phones, and video games. Reading books was my enjoyment.....and playing outdoors in all kinds of weather. It's cold in my area of TN. Seven (7) degrees tonight with snow. Your home is really lovely. And that squirrel is adorable.
A lovely winter garden. You do need sunshine though, now and again, to venture out. A pity the children don't feel the same way.
Love the squirrel pic!
