Silent And Soft

We awoke this morning to a winter wonderland.
Soft, wet snowflakes, blanketing the ground, cocooning us in a world of silence.
No accumulation, it's as if Mother Nature took her powdered sugar shaker, and gave the landscape a sprinkling.
Magical.

Out of the cloud-folds of her garment shaken,
Over the woodlands, brown and bare
Over the harvest-fields forsaken,
Silent, and soft, and slow
Descends the snow.

~~By Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.~~

Well at least it will make it feel like Christmas. I like the old mowing machine - does it still work? What is the name of the orange coloured bird?

Rob: the mowing machine is called an Oliver mower, it used to be pulled by mules. Sadly no more for this yard ornament.
The bird is a Red Cardinal native to Tennessee.

Hope you have a warm and merry Xmas. Just saw your weather forecast on our news. The low temperatures all over the country are incredible.
Wishing you and your family a joyful festive season.

Love your beautiful scene. We have freezing rain making any venture outside of my apartment really scary. It should start warming up sometime tonight. Happy holidays you to and yours, dear friend.

Love your pics, Jo. Snow is so pretty... as long as one doesn't have to be out in it. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a wonderful 2023!!

O, Jo, you have really captured the wonderland
of fallen snow and its visual Christmas gift to the
delight of the children. The Cardinal is an exquisite sighting and Christmas card-worthy. May
you and yours have a most blessed Christmastide, filled with peace, love, joy, harmony and God's prosperity and throughout 2023.
