Today marks the sixty eighth Cornation celebration of Queen Elizabeth II
2 June 1953 at Westminster Abbey, Elizabeth II ascended the throne at the tender age of 27 upon the death of her father, George VI.
I remember in the late fifties waving my little Union Jack flag as she passed by my infant school in her royal procession, school children lined the streets.
I thought she was the most beautiful lady I had ever seen.
God Save The Queen.

I don't think anyone will ever be able to fill her shoes. She's been an amazing monarch.
And they are already planning her Platinum Jubilee!!
Long may she reign indeed!!
You have a great memory of her when she first became queen. She has been queen all of my life and I enjoy watching the whole family.
I loved your tribute!
What a wonderful post to honor a wonderful person.
She's been the Monarch my whole life; it will be strange when she's gone. I felt so bad for her when Prince Philip passed away.
Poor thing, without Philip by her side - bet she misses him!
I've always thought she was beautiful and she is still beautiful. If I could pick one place to visit, it would be to England to see Queen Elizabeth in person.
She is definitely a great lady! I was able to stay home from school and watch her coronation o TV. I love your dinnerware. You have a beautiful day, hugs, Edna B.
A lovely tribute.
Plans are already underway for her Platinum Jubilee ...
All the best Jan
She has been an amazing queen, such a wonderful lady. Shame she had to take on so much responsibility so young, she was always smiling in her youth.
Despite the problems of recent times she's looking really good at events recently. Let's hope she's around for quite a bit longer as we'll miss her so much.
A lovely tribute to a remarkable woman.
