Plotting

I've been gathering my Winter reading material.
There's nothing like turning the pages of  a gardening book, in the midst of Winter.
When the hopes and dreams of most gardeners lie dormant just beneath the surface.
We've been blessed with more sunshine today, the Iris shoots are popping out of the warm soil.
I trust they know that winter days are not yet over.

This vintage cup and saucer makes me smile.
Bought many years ago at a local village fete, my very own little thatched cottage.

I'm dreaming of my garden too. So looking forward to getting out there and digging in the soil.

Me, too. I can't wait to get through the last two months of winter. Seven weeks if we are lucky? I'll bet tea tastes wonderful in that gorgeous tea-cup.

The only thing about spring is that it seems to last for about 3 seconds and then here comes the scorching heat. I'll take a few more weeks of winter please. The older I get gardening is easier to read about than it is to do. But I'm still out there every day watering, deadheading, weeding and just amazed at the beauty of the flowers that God has blessed us with.

I have a couple of those books. I really like the mug and saucer. Moving to my new house makes me want to plan a all new cottage garden. I never really achieved that at my present house but I could pretend it was a little like it. I have to wait to see what the former owners have growing in the yard.

This is our second year on our new property, can't wait to plant all the annual seeds I saved from last year. I too love that tea cup, makes me happy just to see it.

My husband dug out our gardening books. The snow is melting this week, but surely there is more to come. Spring is still weeks away, so we need to just relax in the meantime before the work begins.

Love the cup and saucer. I'll be outside this last warm day before the cold returns. The garden cleanup awaits. I need to order seeds. I found these tiny tomato seeds I had once. They were as small as pearls but the flavor burst in the mouth was so good. I can't seem to grow the giant ones anymore (something in the soil) so with no room in the city, these will fit in.

Your little thatched cottage is very unusual Jo and lovely too. I can tell you are looking forward to the winter being over and getting back into the garden again.

I love to dig out all my garden books and dream of warmer days and bright sunshine. I have always wanted to make a miniature thatched cottage but never have gotten round to it. Maybe one of these days. Hugs, LJ

My winter reading yesterday was Frances Mayes' "Bringing Tuscany Home". Filled with interesting, well-written narrative, and packed with photos, it included a chapter on her Tuscany garden...... ♥

Time to get out the garden books and seed catalogues, I have a couple of those books myself. Love to look this time of year.
