Rainless Days
Surrounding wildfires have caused the skies to become thick with smoke, the smell of burning undergrowth lingers in the night sky.
There is an air-quality alert issued for the entire state.
Still no sign of rain for the last ten weeks, I'm worried about the wildlife in the area.
I ventured out to do a little 'pre-season' Christmas shopping, but since I'm one of those who is a 'susceptible to bronchitis' type it didn't take long and I had to throw in the towel....
Cough, cough.

Smoke causes my daughter to get bronchitis too. I've read about the drought there. La Nina causes extreme heat and drought in OK. Maybe the winter will bring rain soon.
I wish I could send you our rain. We usually have snow by now but for the last two months, we've had rain every couple of days and tons of fog. Today, the ground is wet but at least the sun is out.
Sending you blessings for a pouring of moisture over your area!
Take care. X Chy
The dried grasses and weeds can sure add to the condition. I didn't know that you haven't had rain. We too stopped having rain after the hurricane season quit. We get rain during hurricanes on the east coast.
I don't blame you for staying out of the smoke! I hope this drought is over soon for everyone, wildlife included. -Jenn
I wish I could send you some of our rain. We've had so much I cannot imagine what life would be without puddles everywhere. :-)
No rain for ten weeks???? I cannot imagine! Please have some of ours. We have lots today.
Sure hope you get some rain soon. Wildfires are so scary and I worry about the wildlife too. Jo, I enjoyed your last post about your dear friend visiting. I can sure relate. I expressed the same feelings to my daughters while they were here. You said it perfectly...having no idea how much tension you're carrying around until you're in an environment so comfortable that it all drains away. Thank you!
