Tom Kitten

A few days ago I mentioned we had been seeing a grey and white kitten scurrying around the garden, a tiny little thing, scared of it's own shadow.
I was sure it was abandoned or even maybe a feral.

He had been living under the potting shed, and if a person was to get too close, off he scampered to his safe little  hidey-hole.
We've coaxed him out with food and treats and toys and kind words, and even though he's still a little skittish, we are slowly gaining his trust.

He absolutely loves Oliver cat, I think he believes it's his long-lost mother. Oliver has been so kind, not one paw-slap, or hiss, just a 'roll his eyes' look of disbelief when this little fellow takes over the food bowl.

We think he's about four months old, still a mere baby. It always amazes me how these tiny bodies survive the elements, and live off the land.

I'm still asking around the neighborhood to see if anyone has lost this sweet baby. In the meantime we'll be working on his social skills, and those blessed fleas !

Aww..he really is sweet. How kind of you to care for this little lost kitten. I always wonder, too, how these little innocent beings can survive the nights outside with so much wild-life and nasty weather. Well, he is safe now. Look at him taking over Oliver's chair...little scamp. Hugs

How sweet! Those fleas are a real problem! He's too young for the method our vet recommended. He's definitely a survivor.

There have been some odd kittens showing up around here, though they don't stay around very long. We are really not looking to add a cat at this point. We've a son-in-law and grandson who are allergic.

Wish I had only found one :( Have two adults and two kittens that have taken over my yard. The third kitten lives in the house with my other two cats, and the fourth and fifth kittens went to a foster home. Very hard trying to take care of four outdoor cats that must stay outdoors cause I have no room inside. We can never take care of every animal in need, but we try, don't we? Their photos are on my latest blog post. Your kitten is very precious.

I'm surprised Oliver is taking it so well. Sounds like a lot of playing in the near future.

How nice that Oliver is so forbearing often with an only cat it doesn't work out that way.

Will you keep the newbie if you don't find someone who he belongs to already?

This kitten is a beauty with his grey mouse colour and I think he will stay with you, he feels very comfortable as I see. Nice that Oliver accept the new one.

Love that you took him in, all three (four technically) of ours are saved from the streets kitties and they are so sweet. I think in a way they seem to know they are lucky and they show us the love back. :-)

Ah bless! He's gorgeous. It's lovely that Oliver is so laid back about him.

We had three cats we adopted who lived together for years & just never got on together.
