He's been making his amorous calls day and night, summoning any eligible female within earshot to venture his way.
Last week, I witnessed a new croaking sound, followed by another, apparently his persistence has paid off.
Cold, wet leaves
Floating on moss-colored water
And the croaking of frogs -
Cracked bell-notes in the twilight.

It is fun when they come into your pond and take up residence. Who knows where they come from but all evening they will sing to you.
as long as the frogs are a courting there is hope they can be saved!

love the froggie fountain and the words!
Nice ! I like the sound of the frogs. We here call them peepers. To early for ours they are around in May . I remembered a song I learnt as a kid about a frog A- Courtin the minuet I read your post title ! Have a good day !
A least one frog has found her prince!
They each have their own voice/sound. the bull frogs are my favorite. We have lots of tree frogs here and I wish that they would find a different tune. It's rather boring at times. Love sitting in the sunroom on a Summer night and listen to all the night sounds.

Hi Jo! Sounds like spring is in the air around your place...I love this time of year. It's a wonderfully warm day..around 70 but the wind is howling and we have 50mph wind gusts which is keeping us indoors. I HATE the wind...and I live in Kansas...go figure! I hope your day has been a good one so far.
Maura :)

Looks like fun
Ooooh I can not wait to see if our goldfish survived the winter. We only had two. I will get a few more this year. I also had one frog last year but I doubt he stayed around. I suppose that I should give up on that project, I am glad you have one though (or two)

Ah the simple joys of life! Thank you for always keeping us in touch with them.

Frogs really can sound quite amazing and unreal. That one looks to be a wonderful colour, copper green.
I love frogs, have you actually seen him?
