Downton Abbey Season 2

Downton Abbey returns Sunday evening with an all-star cast to season two of Julian Fellowes' Emmy Award winning drama.

Downton Abbey's Granthams and their family of servants have already weathered scoundrels, scandals, and a momentous succession crisis. But by November, 1916, the Great War has rendered everything — and everyone — changed. Even Downton Abbey itself, like its residents, has risen to the call of duty and transformed.

At the war front, life intensifies for Downton's young men in the face of untold horrors. Meanwhile, at Downton, war makes new and often unjust demands. Some rise to its call for a stiff upper lip and a useful turn, and others see change as an opportunity for either growth or exploitation. Far from the trenches, there remains no shortage of scheming, meddling, and dangerous attractions.

As other great houses crumble, a diminished Downton Abbey struggles to prevail into a new era with its residents and its honor intact.

Somewhere along the way I must have watched at least one episode of Downton Abbey! I liked it, need to check back with Netflix and see what's up with it! I absolutely enjoy British TV, but since I don't want a TV connection I watch on Netflix!

We too are eager for Sunday night's arrival of this season's first episode of Downtown Abbey. I was tickled to discover that y'all will be watching it too! We've heard excellent reviews, especially about that Christmas episode. I'll be on the edge of my seat!

I just watched it!
I saw season 1 last year, and then all of season 1 was replayed on the Buffalo PBS channel, so I watched it again.
I just know that Thomas is going to cause trouble again.

Oh yes! I have been able to warch each and every episode of it. It also plays Tues. mornings at 9am (?) I love these old British movies! Well, any old movies that has to do with people of different stations in life. Some had it very good while others struggled all their lives. We are so well off and so many take it for granted.

I love Downton Abbey. It has made me realize just how much that war changed life in England, and probably Europe. The social classes merged probably for the first time. Women became more. They married "beneath" them and for pleasure rather than for position. They found professions that had never been allowed them before. Although I knew the impact that the womens movement and back then the suffrage, I don't think it has been shown quite so clearly as in this and "Upstairs Downstairs" its predecessor. I just finished watching that series on Netflix.
