The Tennessee Valley endured a sleepless night of horrendous winds, today was filled with much of the same, tornado sirens, trees uprooted, and roofs blown off.
Thankfully there was no loss of life.
The morning mists settled over the drenched landscape, a serene yet eerily silent mirage, showing little sign of earlier ruination.
Oliver thought it best to watch all the mayhem from indoors.
We reached a balmy 65 degrees here today, not your typical January weather.Late afternoon the wild turkeys came a trotting, since the young poults are now grown, the flock has grown to forty six.
There seems to be a lot of flapping wings and flaring tails, in an effort to show dominance amongst the males.

Scary stuff thats for sure. Right now we are having very high winds the house is creeking like crazy and Miggy doesnt like the high winds ! Glad no one has been hurt there ! Awesome photos ! Stay safe and have a good day !

I slept like a baby. It got rough though, didn't it? Glad you didn't get any damage.
we had the black sky in the west and sun in the east and as the black covered the sun the wind was 35 miles hour they said, there was little rain. In less then a hour it was gone and the sunshine was back. Now it is very cold.

I am in central KY and we had the same weather. Quite unusual for this time of year.
Surely tornado season can't be starting yet! One would think it is being managed by the NBA! Jim

They say we may have 95 mph winds tomorrow. Am not looking forward to that!

I hadn't checked the weather and we had high winds starting last night. I love listening to the wind out here in my KY country home and slept peacefully. This am the winds were still strong and later in the day I heard rumors of tornado touchdowns near Louisville and also east of me in Logan Co. I guess while re-cooping i have been kinda lost in my own little world. Glad to know you are safe!

We're very protected where we are, and so when the wind is blowing hard enough that the trees start to sway and moan it's eerie and sometimes unnerving! Nothing like what you have been through, which makes me feel like something of a wimp... Stay safe!

I am glad you and your community are safe,I feel guilty of moaning about our grey wet weather when others have to deal with dangerous tornados.

Oddly enough we had 70 mph winds here in upstate New York last night as well and it sounded like my roof was about to come off, very scary!
Love the turkey photo, I recently saw a documentary about a man who raised some wild turkeys from birth and it was fascinating.
