Floatin' Down The Creek

As predicted we have been deluged with rain the entire day. Flooding, Interstates closed down, tornado watches and warnings.
It's to continue into the night and most of tomorrow !
On the nightly news, it showed footage of folks stranded on the flooded Interstates, abandoning their vehicles, and swimming for safety.......isn't that unbelievable?

On my way home from work, I came through the town center, we have a 'square' right in the middle of town with the town creek running alongside.
Within thirty minutes of traveling around the square, the creek spilled it's banks and flooded the whole square, businesses, parked cars, antique shops, anything in it's way.

It's the same all over town, the park is one huge lake, car lots with vehicles up to their rooftops in muddy water.

Mr. Dylan hit the nail on the head , "The Times They Are A-Changin ".........

Oh my Jo...what a terrible mess your poor town is in. Here where we live in Kansas it hasn't been too bad other than the odd storm and very high winds but so far no real flooding rains like you've had along with tornado's. You'd think it would be us getting the twisters as they predicted that this would be a bad year for tornados in Kansas. I hope your weather changes soon and that you're able to get into your garden soon...safe and sound. Take care....Maura

Oh how terrible, Jo... My friend in Hendersonville who is making sure that George's parents are okay has been telling us about all of the flooding. Scary!!! Is your house high and dry??? I hope so.

I worry about our area since we've had alot of rain today also. BUT- we won't have flooding at our house since we are so high. But---I hate it that we're not there. I love the idea of going to the beach--but hate to leave my home under these conditions.

Take care and please be safe.
Hugs and Prayers,
Betsy

I hope your property can stay safe from all of that. It is such a hard thing to have happen. We have had unusual amounts of flooding and a lot of people are just having to move out. You can't move a town. Stay safe and away from the water.

Oh Jo,this is the first i've learned of this. I am reminded of the floods down South, and the overwhelming work that lies ahead once the waters recede. I hope you are safe where you live. My thoughts are with you. :) Lizzy

Hi Jo. Hope you are keeping safe. This is some mess that's for sure.
historic Franklin is just south of us and it is being evacuated for the first time. The Harpeth runs through our town but I have not been into our southern section due to the weather. There is now concern about downtown Nashville due to everything emptying into the Cumberland River.

I was at work all day yesterday, so I did not know about the flooding n your state. This morning I watched the news and they showed pics like yours of the flooding. It's just awful. I understand 2 lost their lives trying to get to safety. I hope that your house is dry and that you and your family are safe!

Take care,
Susan and Bentley
