Rest In Peace Dear Dolly Cat

Because most of us in 'blogland' write about things near and dear to our heart, I share a sad event today.
A fellow English countryman and blogger, John Bailey journal of a writing man : whom I have been a dedicated follower of over the past thirteen years; announced today the passing over The Rainbow Bridge of Dolly the mega cat, his no-less than regal Maine Coon cat.

Over the years, John has shared his wonderful and funny stories of Dolly, a cat only in name, a Queen by her own standards.
The household comprised of John, Graham, Harry cat and Dolly, with John the self described author, poet, webmaster, and minder of the cat, sharing everyday stories of their world in Somerset England.

I came to know Dolly through his writings, and loved her no less than if if she had been a member of my own household.
So my dear John and Graham, my heart is heavy, my thoughts are with you; there will always be a special place in my heart with a smile and a sctritchy-scratch for dear Dolly.
Rest in peace my furry friend.

You were indeed a Queen.

Hello Jo, Aww that was really a sad read. But what a beautiful Queen she was...and HUGE! I feel for the fellows as I'm sure they'll miss her very much. I will have to look up their blog one day...it sounds like something right up my alley. We now have two cats..a brother and sister that we rescued from a lady who had too many. They both go in this Friday to be 'fixed' and what ever else they need to keep them healthy. I have always liked cats but more so dogs...but these two are really winning my heart. They were bought as barn cats but I have the feeling that once they are fixed and flealess they will be visiting us in the house. I think the male is more of a housecat and Lizzy is more the adventurer. Thank you for sharing this with us. I hope you have a lovely spring day...take care. Maura

This post made me cry. I don't know if you read my post about our neighbor's cat. He spent most of his time at our house since they are gone all the time. We begain to think of him as OUR cat. He went missing last Friday. We are so afraid that he was taken by a coyote. I've been crying for him all weekend because he had been with us the past 3 or 4 years than he was with his owners. As I said, they are gone all the time. He would come spend his afternoons with me when my husband is at work. I miss him terribly.

How sad for Dolly's family. She certainly was a Queen, and the stories about her I'm sure will bring lots of laughter and tears. I'll go visit the site. Thank you for being such a caring friend.

What a gorgeous Maine Coon...we had one too and lost her about seven years ago. We called her Kitty.

How awful! As one of the staff to two wonderful felines I know his loss (I've lost two precious kitties in the space of a year). My heart goes out to him and his loss.

Thank you for all of your kind words and condolences. It helps to know the world is indeed full of compassionate and caring friends.

John, dear John, I wanted to say "something" and not let this day pass without acknowledging Dolly's passing.
My heart is a little less heavy today, realizing she will indeed be reunited with Harry cat.
Hugs to you and Graham.

Dolly obviously brought a lot of joy to all who loved and knew her. My heart goes out to John and Graham. We who have lost beloved furry family members can understand what they are going through. Rest In Peace Dolly.
