Hanging In There

I'm just stopping by, to thank you for all of your get-well wishes.
What a terrific bunch of friends.
The doctor has put me on strong antibiotics, I'm still experiencing sweats, aches and pains and weakness, all caused by a little 'love-bite' received from Oliver cat, when I tried to examine an infected wound on his leg.
As you all know, Oliver came to us, as a grown cat, so I wasn't the one to teach him etiquette when he was a kitten.
Biting the hand that feeds you, is not acceptable. Nevertheless, it was not his fault, more my own, since I insisted on just 'having a little look'.
Lesson learned.

I can't believe it Jo. Tell us more. Is it cat bite fever? I have been bitten and scratched a million times - I guess it just hasn't been my time to get sick. I hope you feel better soon!

I've been away this week so I'm only now reading about what happened to you. How awful. I hope the antibiotics kick in soon. Take care xx

As much as we love our pets, unfortunately they do carry germs that can make us quite ill as you have discovered.I do hope the antibiotics work soon and that you will recover your health.
Poor oliver,If only he could have known what distress he has caused by scratching you, lets hope he does not do that again.

Oh my gosh! I help you are over this and felling better quickly! One of our cats just nipped me last night because I wasn't fast enough with the treats, he's normally very docile. You never know what they will do. Have a speedy recovery and take care!

It's always helpful to have a name for what's making you feel so sick. Fingers crossed that the antibiotics work!
Take care,

Antibiotics are so needed when there's an ugly infection going on so I'm delighted you're on a good medicine to help you get well.

As for the bird picture, it reminded me of the first year we lived here. The plums fermented and the wildlife partook and became rather tipsy. We saw a bird land on a telephone wire and immediately swing upside down, still clinging to the wire!! The bird look so surprised and confused. It was a sight that still makes me laugh when I think of it.

Wishing you well!

Well I am hoping that the medication works quickly for you -- it sounds as if Oliver's "little nip" had big consequences for you.
Get well soon!

what a priceless shot of the bird hanging, love it. I am back from virus attack on my computer, but I think that is better than the cat bite thing. Hope all is well with you. I am fine, just trying to get caught up with blog reading and get this machine back where it was before

I'm sure that Oliver didn't mean it, but sometimes a cat's gotta do what a cat's gotta do. The antibiotics will fix it... next time, wrap him in a towel!

I'm watching the last two scars on my hand heal, fade, and disappear. If Dolly would come back she could scratch me as much as she wanted... :-)
