A Token Of Love

My sweet grandson is in the National FFA whilst in his junior year of high school.
The National FFA Organization (also known as Future Farmers of America) is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.

Each year, the students manage the greenhouse, growing and marketing plants, and vegetables. The funds they raise help send the members to Statewide and Nationwide conventions.

My daughter stopped by the greenhouse this morning, when I looked out onto the porch, she had left me a little treat.
It's good to share.

Holding Stedfast

When temperatures hover around the one hundred mark, I'm grateful for flowers in pots.
Easily watered, and lush green foliage, unlike flowers in the garden, whose days of looking their best, have long since passed.

"He who is born with a silver spoon in his mouth is generally considered a fortunate person, but his good fortune is small compared to that of the happy mortal who enters this world with a passion for flowers in his soul."

Murphy's Law

I have a long standing love affair with these plants, Geraniums.
Each year I plant them on the front porch, sometimes using red, salmon pink, but oftentimes white.
They bloom all summer long, despite the lingering heat here in the South.

Wouldn't you know, just as the pots are planted, and positioned on the porch, we've been handed a frost warning tonight.

Off to cover everything with the white sheets........when will I learn to plant later.
