Sunday Serenity

We are enjoying a lovely serene Sunday.
The weather is simply gorgeous.
Low humidity but ample sunshine, with white fluffy clouds billowing overhead.
I enjoyed my visit with a dear old friend earlier this weekend, we giggled like school girls, and drank far too many pots of tea.
Days such as these are priceless.

Visiting Days

I'm taking some time off to catch up with old friends.
An entire season has passed, and our visits have been few and far between.
There will be much tea-drinking, and giggling and maybe a few tall tales to tell.
Stay well dear ones.

All Caught Up

We ate, drank, and made merry.
Spent our time tea-drinking and catching up, and giggled like two school girls.
There is nothing quite like an old friendship.
Of being in the company of someone who knows you inside and out, and you them, in the way that just seems to happen, when months turn into years, and years turn into a lifetime.
It’s like a massage for the soul. You have no idea how much tension you’re carrying around until you’re in an environment so comfortable that it all drains away.

And Sharing these....

Time For Tea

A dear longtime English friend stopped by for a visit yesterday, her timing couldn't have been better.
You know how it is, some days you'd just like to pull the bed-covers over your head, and let the world pass you by..........
She came bearing gifts, a lovely wool shawl, and a box of Ty-phoo tea, I'll save the shawl for winter, we both indulged in the tea-drinking.

There is something to be treasured about the ease of spending time with an old friend.

A Cup of Tea

When the world is all at odds
And the mind is all at sea
Then cease the useless tedium
And brew a cup of tea.

There is magic in its' fragrance,
There is solace in its' taste;
And then laden moments vanish
Somehow into space.

And the world becomes a lovely thing!
There's beauty as you'll see;
All because you briefly stopped
To brew a cup of tea.

Friendship Days

Monday started out dark and dreary.
I gave some thought to looking around a few shops, and seeing what is available now the Christmas season is drawing closer.
Instead, I had a visit from a wonderful friend, a dear lady who has been in my life for many years, and has shared the ups and downs of expat life together.
.
I visited her hometown when I was in England recently. A medieval city founded as a Roman fort in AD 79.
Chester and my hometown share the same county and is a popular tourist destination to thousands of visitors to Britain each year.
It's streets are lined with some of the best timber-framed architecture throughout the land.
We enjoyed a pot of tea, and Scottish shortbread biscuits, as we reminisced and giggled like two school girls.

Friendships

I've been spending time catching up on long-overdue visits with friends.
You know how it is, we all seem to get caught up in the everyday comings and goings of life, and before you realize it,  half the year has passed.
There have been wedding showers, and baby showers, school graduations and birthday celebrations, lots of reasons for get-togethers and endless hours of tea-drinking and giggling.

I've met new friends, and forged new relationships, but there is something to be treasured about the ease of spending time with an old friend.
Of being in the company of someone who knows you inside and out, and you them, in the way that just seems to happen, when months turn into years, and years turn into a lifetime.

Friends

Tom Tilly has found herself a new friend.
She doesn't 'hiss' or walk away, she just sits quietly by her side and watches.
They took a selphie, I think they look purrfectly content.

Winter Friendships

Taking a few days off to catch up on overdue visits with dear friends.
Share a cup of tea, a piece of homemade Christmas cake, and swap Christmas gifts.
Be well !
