I'm beginning to get cabin fever, and just as slightly warmer temperatures arrive, an entire new weather system is headed our way.
More snow, and sadly combined with frozen precipitation.
The school children have been afforded extra days off school, and yet their presence outside has been scarce.
Back when my daughter was young she would spend an entire afternoon outside with her neighborhood friends, sledding and building snowmen, only returning to the warmth of home for a change of gloves, and some hot chocolate. Nowadays, it seems like the children stay inside and play computer games or watch TV.
Times have changed.

It reaches a point where snow isn't pretty so much. You have some great winter photos though. I hope your next storm is more gentle. I know they said it would be more snow and not the ice. Stay warm and use the fireplace more often.
We are having quick changes in weather. We've had a lot of rain. Nothing like those icicles. Your weather can be very extreme. Hope you get out soon
Jo your winter pictures are lovely. I am sorry though that cabin fever has set in and with more snow on the way. We have it here too...I baked a few cookies this morning and lit a candle to help chase away the cold. Take care friend and keep "looking up"...spring is coming.
Haven't things changed! Jo, I've been hearing about the terrible winter storm in Tennessee and thought about you. It is so terribly cold now. Hard to imagine anyone being without power. We were supposed to get several inches of snow today but so far, nothing but high winds and cold temperatures. The weather map looks so odd right now. There is snow falling west of us and east of us and a dry line right up the middle. Stay safe.
Beautiful photos. ❤️ Stay safe and warm 🙏
Times have changed for me because I am old, but I do remember one winter night when I was in my twenties feeling like I could do anything I wished. It was snowing heavily, so I put on my knee-high fur lined boots, a warm wool coat, hat, muffler and gloves to venture outside into that white wonderland of snow sifting from the heavens. No one in site, so I walked for blocks until I thought it might be more to my benefit to return to the indoors., It's a bit of magic that has lasted with me for a lifetime. Your photos are so beautiful.
Brrr
Beautiful photographs.
All the best Jan
You caught so much beauty of the winter magic outside. It has been quite a winter storm to remember in our southern parts too, I live in Virginia.
I am looking forward to being able to actually go outside in walking shoes, not boots, and do a fast and brisk walk! But I have enjoyed the winter weather I must confess.
