Heat Lover
The Crepe Myrtle bush is in full bloom, it's flowers will put on this show for the better part of a month, the bees and Hummingbirds are drawn to it's huge Watermelon Red blooms. It loves the summer heat, I have offered it my portion.
My Daddy loved his crepe mytle trees! He always hung a few hanging baskets of petunias off of them before the trees bloomed so as to have more flowers. Sure do miss my Dad. x
Your Crepe Myrtle is one of prettiest I've ever seen! I would really love to have one, but we can't fit another tree, no matter how skinny, into our little five acres. Wish we had cut out about a hundred more trees when we built the house. :) Hasn't it been hot so far!! Since the first week in June, it has felt more like August here in NC. Hot and humid!

We have three Crepe Myrtle bushes here and they are just so lovely.
What a gorgeous show. I've never seen one of those before

My apartment building is surrounded with crepe myrtle bushes... I love the colors but these are white. Just sort of a bummer!

Are we not fortunate here to be surrounded by the beauty of crepe myrtle this time of year?
Ours are also that striking flame hue.
I can tell you really do live in the South as that is the most healthy bush. It is doing well again this year and the colors are so great. Wow!
