Early Autumn Days

Summer Days have not yet took their leave.

The most perfect of Autumnal days today, blue skies and sunshine galore.
Our rainfall has been little to none for an entire month, many of the trees have already lost their brown leaves prematurely.
The air conditioner continues to hum....

"Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness,
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun;
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run;
To bend with apples the moss'd cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease,
For Summer has o'er-brimm'd their clammy cells."

~ John Keats

I'm savoring my favorite time of year. All of your photos are an autumnal inspiration. That looks exactly like the pumpkin bread that I make! Rainfall has been scarce in my area of TN, too. Rain is predicted for this week - - and I hope so.

Such lovely pots of flowers, the huge covering and the colour. It's a wonderful time of the year

Your beautiful, beautiful blog! That big full goldish, orange colored mum is so pretty but then all of it so pretty! We have had way too much rain lately. Seems like it's either too much or not enough. :)

Ah, I love that poem by Keats. It is so very hot, isn't it? Hope it cools down soon. Mums! I love them too like that lovely loaf cake. x

That is such a gorgeous poem, so full of lush images! Autumn is a favorite season for many of us I think. Thinking of those southern states in the path Helene; I don't know if that affects you directly, but be safe!

Beautiful autumn shares. I was thinking did you make some banana bread or pumpkin bread? It sure looks good.

I love your fall colors and the items that indicate fall. The mums are beautiful. I think I need to buy a pumpkin fur my front step.
