Just bought a basket of strawberries this week. We like to make strawberry spinach salad with fresh strawberries and fresh baby spinach... add a few slices of red onion and candied pecans! Really good!
There's nothing better than freshly picked strawberries. I'm glad your initial allergy has dwindled away.
When I lived in Southern California the strawberry season was in February and March.
No Strawberries around here for a while yet! Some people spend their life looking to make more and more money and still they are not happy. As time has gone by I've come to realise that you need to find a place to live where you never want to leave and find at least one interest that makes you want to get up with the sun every morning.
I bought a selection of strawberry plants this year, I can't wait for them to grow now.

Freshly picked strawberries...what a delicious treat...how fortunate you can
now enjoy them, Jo. Spring is really springing around here in TN and the
sun-lit days are a balm for the spirit. The simple, everyday blessings make
it all the more meaningful.
