"The real things haven't changed. It is still best to be honest and truthful; to make the most of what we have; to be happy with simple pleasures; and have courage when things go wrong."

No, the real things haven't changed. We keep a candle in our windows too.
So true!
It is a great quote. We have reached the stage in life that the most simple things will do to make us happy. I really admire your candle stand and burning candle. The candle does represent what Wilder wrote.
The window is so serene with the reflections of the candle.I have loved Laura Ingalls Wilder since I was a child. I have all of her books. When I lived in the Missouri Ozarks I visited her long-time home in Mansfield,MO many times (she lived there for 64 years). It's now a museum. It's located in a beautiful area and has been preserved exactly the same as when she lived there.
So true - so true and easily overlooked in seeking contentment.
Thank you for the reminder, Jo.
Very wise indeed
Beautiful photograph.
All the best Jan
