Rainless Days

We have been without significant rainfall for over a month.

Usually by mid-October, we are surrounded by brilliant orange, and red leaves on the trees, but sadly they are turning brown, and falling to the ground.
Interesting, since we had a wet spring and summer, and now a dry, brown Autumn.
The Autumn Joy Sedum however, is turning a delicious shade of crimson.

Our American Dogwoods have some leaves of reddish orange, and the Redbud leaves turn golden. The viburnums are turning red, while the Solomon's Seal and Bellwort turn buttery shades of yellow. My yard is small enough to water once in a while, so that helps. Your sedums look happy and beautiful.

It's a shame that your autumn is dried out. Here in Jamestown the past few days have been cold and very rainy. Unfortunately I haven't been able to see the foliage because I'm confined to dreary physical rehab. I'm yearning to go home. I'm sure the forest is beautiful.

The Autumn is slowly turning to red and orange here. Its foggy mornings and I like this time of year...

That sedum looks lovely.

Here in the UK we have been getting a lot of rain, in fact some areas have experienced bad flooding! The leaves are turning colour and beginning to fall but plenty more still to come down.

My good wishes.

All the best Jan

Your sedum is turning beautifully. We are so dry that I could hardly dig down to move iris rhizomes. It is hard as rock.
