Winter Days

We have had the strangest warm weather these past few days.

Here it is, the middle of winter, and the temperatures have reached a balmy 71 degrees yesterday, folks were running around town, in shorts and flip-flops !
The Iris shoots are popping up out of the ground, twelve inches tall already.

Today....all change.
We are in for a true taste of winter, temperatures down in the thirties and  nightly freezes are in the forecast.
A good excuse to stay home,  indulge in a nice pot of tea and left-over Christmas cake, and some rather lovely reading material.
Hope all is well and cozy in your little corner of the world.

I really like your reading material. I am getting garden catalogs right now. The iris catalogs are so tempting and beautiful.

I always love when that magazine arrives! I then "dream" too with a mug of tea!

I must admit to being an anglophile by heart. I think it's the beauty of some of the gardens that at first hooked me.
We've had the same warm trend here in central Texas...It was 84 degrees last week and lasted in the 70's for several days.
Stay warm!

I used to be able to get that magazine at Barnes and Noble. Don't know if they still carry it... but may have to check it out. Enjoy your tea and reading!

Sounds like a lovely plan...Are you familiar with
the TN Iris Society and their annual sale? Our garden has benefited greatly. The brrr evenings
are OK with a down comforter, but the brrr days are limiting. Ahh Spring....
