Nesting

"Surely everyone is aware of the divine pleasures which attend a wintry fireside; candles at four o’clock, warm hearthrugs, tea, a fair tea-maker, shutters closed, curtains flowing in ample draperies to the floor, whilst the wind and rain are raging audibly without."

 ~ Thomas De Quincey 1796

How well that illustrates and describes this day.
So glad you put the kettle on.. I'll bring the scones....and we'll be warmed and healed in the doing. Stay snug, Jo.

The writer does a great job describing why one needs to stay inside. I like coziness and the warm glow of the fireplace. Hot things to drink and maybe a cookie too.

Perfect! But Mr. DeQuincey left out the book in your lap.

Oh this is simply fabulous :)

It was a little bit like that at ours this afternoon as we sat down and enjoyed a cuppa while looking out at rain lashing the window pane!

Enjoy your January days.

All the best Jan
