All Creatures Great and Small: Official Trailer

Masterpiece Theatre's 50th celebration kicks off with the new beloved James Herriot series All Creatures Great And Small,  based on the books by James Alfred Wright.
As Wright wrote the All Creatures series as an autobiographical account, to protect his identity, he created the name James Herriot as a pseudonym.
Treat yourself to a nice pot of tea, finish off those left-over Mince Pies, and settle in for a delightful evening of entertainment. Sunday 8pm.

We own the old series and have watched it often. Also have the books and love them as well. I'm so used to the old characters it just wouldn't seem the same to me. :)

I didn't think I would enjoy this remake as the first was so good but to be truthful I really have & was disappointed that they only made 7 episodes for the first series. The Christmas special was good too. I'm sure there'll be a second series.

Enjoy!

I remember reading the book “All Creatures Great and Small on a train from Edinburgh to Liverpool, donkeys years ago. It was the first book that made me laugh out loud, I was quite helpless with giggles and was afraid I’d be thrown off the train!

Read the books years ago... and watched the series recently on Britbox. This Masterpiece one has different characters. Since I don't have Masterpiece any more, I wonder if it's available elsewhere?

Oh my I remember watching the original series starring Christopher Timothy back in the 70's! I am currently reading for the 6th time, the book "All Creatures Great and Small". Love it. Wish I could get Masterpiece on my TV.

I loved the original series and have watched it again and again on YouTube. I have all the books too. I watched the new series over two evenings on the internet (Dailymotion.com), I'm glad there's a second season coming. I still PVR'd the first episode on Masterpiece Theater and watched it again tonight.

I really liked the series that aired so many years ago.

I watched and it was delightful.
I was afraid it wouldn't live up to the original series, so far, it has.
The original was so good. They could've just shown it and saved themselves tons of money.
Glad to see it now though.
