Memories

I've been on a roll with my Spring cleaning.
Fluffing, and polishing and organizing.
I'll be repeating the same tasks a few months from now, but at least I've lightened my load.
The problem is, I seem to flit from room to room, and never really complete an entire project, before getting sidetracked with something else.

Such was the case the other evening.
I started off organizing my office cupboard, and discovered a box of photographs that I hadn't looked at in a long time.
Grandchildren from birth onward, through school days, and lazy afternoons spent at the park,  now young adults moving busily along with their own lives.
All those celebrations of birthdays, and Christmases, and planting times in the garden, with their little shovels and rakes.
I allowed myself to become completely absorbed in a time-warp.

Happy times, that hold so many sweet memories.
Where do the years go.

Looking at old photos does that to me, too. I get completely caught up in that same time warp. :-)

Jo, I absolutely love looking at old photos. These days it's rare we get prints to put in albums or boxes. But honestly Jo, when I get into looking at the photos of my daughters I get weeping for those old times when they were my own little sweethearts. Cleaning as we go just seems to help all the way around. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

It is so easy to get distracted when looking through old photos....

Looking at photos is a whole lot more fun. I tend to hit just one room at a time but I have not done anything since Christmas is over.

Ah, that's me too. I get lost in memories whenever I go through some old photos. I love that tureen and the other piece in your cabinet. You have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.

Feels like winter will never end but I'm busying myself painting etc in prep for sunnier days to come...I hope.

Yes, "Where go the years down that tunnel of time...." ~ Louis L'Amour Everything looks so beautiful there ~ sparkling clean!) I am afraid there's always a coat of ash dust all over the place at my house, caused by the wood-burning stove. When we shut it down in the spring, everything will get a good cleaning. Nothing will stop me in my tracks like old pictures. Sometimes they make me sad!

Oh, I do the same thing...get carried away and completely forget about the cleaning. Your home always looks perfectly clean and beautiful. I don't know how you keep it all so pretty. The years go by too fast.

Oh my you're full of energy spring cleaning already! I need to start but it's much too early for me, maybe March?
I'm exactly the same when I start to clear out cupboards, so easily distracted and photographs are the greatest of them.

I'm scanning my parents old photos, quite a chore but I often get distracted just looking through the albums.
