Rain has fallen on and off for most of the day, making for the perfect opportunity to gather my Thanksgiving recipes.
Our Thanksgiving is a low-key affair, since like most families, our little close family, now includes in-laws, and extended family members, and time has to be split between both.
That's ok too, this way we all have a chance to enjoy family, food and fellowship, and be grateful for the many blessings.

Our Thanksgiving will be a bust this year. Our little granddaughter is too small to travel in a car. We had an option to go to Chicago but we didn't want to be with a bunch of family that we don't know. So we are just staying home alone. We have done that a few years so we know it will be ok. It bothers me that we will never have a large family ever again with people gone but it is what it is. Your mug is stunning.

My dinner is just my daughter and husband and my 4 grandsons. We always have a very good day together.

I get to see all of my family via Portal. It's a wonderful invention that lets me interact with them via the phone and Portal screen. For thanksgiving, Pogo and I will share our take out Chinese food dinner with one of the tenants that will be staying at home. I was going to cook, but I'm not really up to it. A lady friend with 5 adult children told me how they do their Thanksgiving & Christmas and it sounded wonderful... so when our firstborn got married, I suggested we work things the way Dorothy does and it's stuck. Every other year we have Thanksgiving at our house and the opposite year our married kids go to their in-laws' house. So, in other words, this year we're having Thanksgiving at our house on the actual day of Thanksgiving.. but we'll celebrate Christmas on a different day. Next year we'll celebrate Christmas on the actual December 25th day but we won't have Thanksgiving. It works out perfectly and I can plan however many years ahead and I want to... cos I always know the dates. :-) Perhaps that can be done in your family as well. Love, Andrea xoxo

Our Thanksgiving will be with our daughter again this year. No other family around here, they are all in PA and one in NMexico and one in Fl. I never expect to see any of them.

Happy Thanksgiving to you! It's just me and my husband; in past years we've gone out for a meal but are staying in this year. I shall attempt to cook. LOL! But no matter what, there is a lot to be thankful for, and we are very grateful.
